When Craft Goes Wrong

I’ve never been crafty, out of my sister and I she was the hands on child and I was the academic one

Yet I’ll try anything and always insist on a messy play activity every other Wednesday morning during our 1-2-1 time to ensure I give J some undivided attention. Last Wednesday’s was painting

How did we get on?

Well, I decided to make my own potato stamps. Aside from cutting the star off by accident and nearly slicing my hand open (shh don’t tell anyone I work in Safety!) it started pretty well…

Being the perfect child...

J then decided painting potatoes and paper was not enough, and then proceeded to paint her hands and do hand stamping…

First green
First green
Then red...
Then red…

I carried on painting with her, horrified at the prospect of having to wash all this paint off everything, my child, my table and probably the door handles, and then this happens…

I hope I don't look like that when I apply my make up?

My 'beautiful' child, ahem

I’m pretty sure I should stop at some point and let my mum do crafts with her as she is also way better than me but I’m determined to continue and beat this crap that is known as craft and one day end up with a slightly cleaner child afterwards

Although this is a full post, I’m linking up with BrummyMummyof2 because this really reminded me of what #WickedWednesdays are all about
