My Family Adventures {January 2017}

I honestly cannot believe we are nearly at the end of the 1st month of 2017. Whilst illness has dominated most of January we did manage to venture out and explore some of the south. One of my favourite Instagram communities is #MyFamilyAdventures, and when I was told there would be a monthly round up linky on the blog I knew I just had to join in

Right at the very beginning of January we visited Deerleap in the New Forest for a walk. J took her bike for the first time since learning how to ride without stabilisers and decided to ride through every puddle she could find, which made for some really funny moments (especially when she got stuck!)

It was also really lovely to watch Lexi run alongside her, and to  walk at a relatively decent pace for the first time in a few years. I think a cycle rack will be heading onto the car so we can join her on the outings as she’s pretty fast

We also visited Godshill in the New Forest for a meandering walk. The first time we went here was when we had Lexi as a puppy and aside from one quick trip in 2015 we hadn’t been back. While I was planning our weekend adventures at the beginning of the month I remembered just how gorgeous it was in summer and wondered if it would live up to my expectations in winter. It did… it was stunning (if not a little cold on top of the hill)

I love that we have the New Forest right on our doorstep, we just don’t visit enough and that is something I desperately want to change this year

J loved going out on her scooter and after a day indoors one Saturday we started to get cabin fever which resulted in J and I venturing out just before dusk to a country park. Mist and the darkness was fast approaching but she kept whizzing off down the hills and round the corners with me chasing after her and her giggling away

My girl is fearless and so full of adventure that more often than not I find my heart is in my mouth – I honestly wouldn’t have it any other way

With February fast approaching and spring poking it’s head around the corner winter is slowly coming to a close. I am fully aware it’s not everyone’s favourite season but I really will miss the gorgeous sunsets, sunrises, mist, fog and frost we have been treated to this month

Over the coming weeks I am hopeful for a clear weekend morning sky for a  sunrise or sunset walk with my little crew, every year I say we will do it but haven’t yet achieved it – watch this space

Do pop over and see KA’s blog, it’s full of colour, style and most importantly, the new linky of My Family Adventures

life as our little family
