Concentration {Living Arrows 2017 – 27th February}

I really am enjoying this monthly portrait project and recording each different snippet of my little girl as she continues to grow and amaze me. This week we visited Mottisfont Abbey for their half term trail and although she cannot read she loves to have the books, maps and leaflets we are given. She is often asking what each word is, takes it all in and we’ve also spent a lot of time talking about phonics and practising how to put words together through the letter

The theme for this trail was scribbles and sketches, and she decided to sit down mid-trail and figure out where we were on the map and where the next number would be. I love that in this shot she is fully concentrating on the activity at hand as I sat and watched her, heading over when my independent little girl needed me

School is fast approaching and she is so very ready, her appetite for learning is immense and days like this just confirm that for me (although I do wish the year would slow down a little – I’m not ready to be in the third month of the year at the end of this week).

  1. What a lovely photo, I bet she will be reading in no time once she’s in school. I can’t believe we are in March already either ! #LivingArrows

  2. Lovely photo, love the look of concentration on her face! Time really is speeding by isn’t it, my daughter turned 3 today and is starting half days at school tomorrow, I’m really not ready! x #LivingArrows

  3. I love the concentration on her face! Mottisfont has to be my favourite NT place to visit – I long for the day when my son can do an actual activity trail round these places, I know he’ll love them, but he’s that bit too young at the moment. #LivingArrows

  4. Amy is desperate to learn to read and I can’t wait either. It’s such an amazing hobby to have. I love your little girl’s coat. Adore the vibrant colour x

  5. She sounds like she’s more than ready, Monkey started in Sept so we are all about the phonics! I love Montisfont and hope to visit in the Summer when the roses are out. I hope it slows down a bit for you x #LivingArrows
