Simple Days at The Park

Posted by

Quite often we focus on the big events, the special outings or the places away from home when actually staying close to home is one of the best things to do. After a week or so of feeling rotten I decided to make the best use of the precious sunny Wednesday J and I had together and we went to the park

We made a quick stop en route and picked up a children’s rounders set and some bubbles, having boules and a picnic already in the car. Arriving at the field little long legs Β ran off giggling with excitement, we pitched up and played. One on one time together with me teaching her rounders and encouraging her to hit the ball (that girl is fast!), we played around, made daisy chains and when it got too much for me I sat and waved bubbles while she chased them round the fields once again giggling and squealing with excitement

A perfectly understated and simple outing, and something we take for granted in this current world where we constantly feel the need to do the latest craze or climb mountains every weekend. It’s great to do those, but it’s also great to scale it back

  1. I do like a bit of back to basics. This looks like a perfect chilling out day and so much better than just staying home and watching movies. A warm day is too good to miss and it sounds like a perfect balance of activities when you have not been feeling great.

Thank you for sharing with me on #CountryKids

  2. Days at the park or out walking are often my oldest son’s favourites! And always a great photo opportunity too.

  3. We don’t go to the park often enough at all but it looks like you had such a nice time. I really need to make more time for the simple pleasures x
