A Month of Adventures {October 2017}

And so my favourite month in the calendar is nearly up and we’re hurtling into our busiest 2 months of my year. The months where we already have something planned for every weekend and then a much needed 10 days off together as a family over the Christmas break. Before I get ahead of myself, lets focus on the month that was October

The month which saw my girl’s much needed and welcomed first half term, the month which saw a weekend away for us, the month where every weekend was consumed by a birthday party and the month where I decided to leave my current company of 15 years to move onto pastures new. It’s been yet another jam packed month, one full of emotions, and one full of excitement

We’ve been pumpkin picking, have played in the forest and at the beach with our cousins, kicked plenty of leaves, done a lot of craft, climbed trees (hubby and J, not me!) and in amongst that we’ve also had lots of evenings playing games and just being a family. It’s my favourite month for good reason

And so here is October in pictures and words…

I decided to book a Camping Pod on a deal for a mini half term getaway. We were apprehensive beforehand, especially with Storm Brian on the way, but it turns out it was the perfect decision and we had a great time. Best of all, the sun came out on the Sunday – look at it lighting up the autumn scene

J and I went to Mottisfont in the half term for their trail and we spent the few hours there map reading, crafting, walking and playing in the water and mud (I need to say it was her in the water and mud, not me!)

October isn’t October without the beautiful orange hue that accompanies it. Whether it’s the evening skies as the sun sets, the orange on all of the halloween decorations, or the fields lined with orange, pick your own is one of our favourite activities in the calendar

My cousin is one of my best friends and I currently see her every day at work, it’s one of the many things I’ll miss when I move companies, but it’ll make days like the one at the beginning of the month where we went to the forest even more special when we do have them

We went out to our usual haunt, our girls played and collected autumnal treasures, and our husbands walked on catching up and chatting about technology. The sun shone, and it was one of those beautiful autumn days that I love this month for

Kicking and playing in leaves, playing in play parks in the morning sun, and watching the glorious sun light up our days – it’s been another blinder of a month. While darker mornings will start to greet us in NovemberΒ there is so much more to look forward to as we head towards the close of 2017 – lots of parties, fireworks and a little girl turning 5 at the end of November (and her daddy turning another year older on the same day) to name but a few. Here are a few more of my favourite October adventures in pictures
