An Autumn Walk by the Water

Posted by

Show me someone who doesn’t love autumn and I’ll show them every reason they should. It’s a shame that we’re near the end of it and that winter is nearly upon us, but as it’s my second favourite season I can’t complain too much. I sit writing this as much of the UK has been covered by snow, with more due tomorrow, and it feels as though my county is the only one which seems to have been missed. Next time I’m sure!

The other week we decided to go for a family walk with our good friend RH. Before she moved to Cheshire we used to spend most weekends together, walking, talking and just enjoying the great outdoors. The weather on our outing was just perfect – those crisp blue skies I keep talking about, leaves on the floor and the vivid colours everywhere

We walked a total of 4.5 miles during our time there and were a very tired household by the end of it, but we had a great time and I captured quite possibly one of my favourite photos of me and the hubster. J was a trooper throughout the walk and spent plenty of time jumping off tree stumps and getting stuck in the mud

In hindsight putting her in one of my favourite outfits in the morning (not realising the length of walk we’d be going on!) was not one of my strong points, but it was nice to spend some quality time together in the most beautiful season.Β It’s amazing how the most ordinary of days hold the best memories.

  1. You may not realise it now but you will look back on days like this with such fondness. I have so many happy memories of family walks like this, now between kids activities and work they seems less and less but they are without doubt the most special times. I love that you have so many photos to remember this day and Sherry, it is wonderful to see you in them too.

Thank you for sharing with me on #CountryKids
